The smile on your face
the calmness of your heart the warmth of your embrace is like sunshine on the morning grass. I wonder if I should wait it out or, tell it to you all out. For my feelings, heart, my life it's all at stake. But perhaps if I just told you it'd lessen my heart ache? Because I have nothing you can have so much more than me. You can have the mountains of the riches the rain of the Amazon the camels by the Nile just by your smile. Because I have nothing but hope. The hope to grow old the hope to be bold the hope to stay whether it's happiness or dismay. The hope to kneel the hope to feel the hope of happiness Come whatever that may. The hope to respect the hope of having no regret the hope to live with you, and, with you, to die. The hope that like cotton threads, we weave the hope to love deeply and believe. The hope to hold your hand, to run away with you and fly. Because I have nothing. I have no pots of gold no treasures to which I have the key. But, I'd tell you our love story If you'd just sit down and listen to me. Because I have nothing. In this cold stormy weather, my lips may be chapped, my hands may be cold. But just let me hold you, my dear 'Cause I have soul of the bold and only warmth in my hold. I think of you when I am awake. think of you when I am asleep. Next time you walk the hilly slopes of San Francisco Just remember, there's a boy walking around wearing his heart on his sleeve. In the drought of my life I don’t know what to seek or where to hide. All I want to do is become one with you and never divide. And, until then, I am waiting. Waiting for you to grant my wish waiting for you to come to the other side. And, until then, I am waiting like a beach, with my arms wide open, waiting for your ocean’s tide.
